Privacy Policy

Porkfolio is developed by SkinSoftware GmbH (“SkinSoftware”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Porkfolio app for iPhone and Apple Watch, its widgets and Siri features, and this website, porkfoliodiary.app.

Summary

• You do not need a Porkfolio account.
• Your diary entries and meal photos are stored locally on your device.
• Porkfolio does not send your diary text, meal photos, private photos, Pigginess levels, water intake, appetite changes, state of mind, weight, active or basal energy, or other health values to our analytics service.
• Optional Apple Health, Apple Watch, Siri, widget, and Apple Intelligence features work on your devices and exchange information only through Apple’s frameworks when you choose to use them.
• If you challenge friends or join a friend’s challenge, your name and challenge progress are shared with that group through iCloud. We cannot see it.
• We collect limited anonymous product analytics to understand whether the app works as intended and which general product flows are used.
• If you installed Porkfolio after tapping or viewing an Apple Ads advertisement on the App Store, we record which of our campaigns led to the installation, without an advertising identifier.
• We do not create user profiles, use advertising trackers, sell personal information, or use your diary or health information for advertising.
• This website uses no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party requests.

Information stored on your device

Porkfolio stores the information you enter in the app locally on your device. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

• meal diary entries and notes;
• meal photos;
• private photo history photos, if you use that Pork Prime feature;
• Pigginess levels represented by pig symbols;
• meal schedules and reminder preferences;
• water records, goals, and quick amounts;
• state-of-mind and appetite-change records;
• progress information such as your logging streak, medals, challenges, and recaps; and
• app settings and purchase-entitlement status.

To show this information in widgets and on Apple Watch, Porkfolio keeps it in a storage area shared between the app and its extensions on your device. Porkfolio does not provide its own cloud account or Porkfolio-operated cloud synchronization. The only information that leaves your device through iCloud is what you choose to share in a challenge with friends, described in Challenges with friends.

You can delete the app’s locally stored diary entries, meal photos, and private photo history using the delete-all-data option in the app. Deleting the app may also remove locally stored app data, subject to how your device and its backups are configured.

Limited anonymous product analytics

We use PostHog to receive limited anonymous product analytics. This helps us understand broad product usage, onboarding completion, retention ranges, screen navigation, completion of core actions, which features are used, which sharing features help people discover Porkfolio, whether product flows fail, and purchase-flow events such as viewing, starting, completing, canceling, or dismissing a purchase flow.

Analytics may include only coarse event names and limited properties such as:

• the general screen or onboarding step viewed;
• the general source of a purchase screen and, where it applies, the general Pork Prime feature that led to it (for example Trends, recaps, PDF export, share-card themes, or widgets);
• the Pork Prime plan type (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) and whether a free trial was offered when a purchase is started or finished;
• whether a diary entry was created in the app, with a Siri shortcut, or on Apple Watch, and whether the meal editor was opened from Today or the Calendar (and, on Today, from which card: the current meal, the next meal, the meal list, or the meal picker) or closed without saving. The entry’s contents, rating, photos, and whether it has text or a photo are never included;
• that a weekly or monthly recap, a recap comparison, or a PDF export was opened, without its contents;
• once a day, which Porkfolio Home and Lock Screen widgets are placed (the water widget is never reported) and whether the Apple Watch app is installed;
• that a share screen was opened or a share was finished, with the kind of share (meal, weekly card, achievement card, PDF, or challenge invite), its format, and its card theme, but never the image, the link, the recipient, or the app you shared to;
• that a Porkfolio social-media profile or the developer’s website was opened from the app;
• that a 30-day challenge was started, without which challenge, its progress, or its result;
• that a challenge with friends was created, joined, started, cancelled, or finished, with whether it is a 30-day or a monthly challenge (never which one), the number of people taking part when it starts (two to eight), whether a cancelled challenge had no one join, and whether your own run was completed, ended, stopped, or left and whether you invited or joined. A result is never sent together with the kind of challenge, and no names, dates, progress, or links are included;
• whether reminder notifications were allowed, declined, or skipped during onboarding;
• that a general setting was switched on or off (hiding the game layer, recap notifications, monthly challenge notifications) or that the meal schedule was changed, without meal names or times;
• that all app data was deleted;
• which setup tutorial was opened (widgets, Siri, or Apple Watch);
• the general area of a failure, such as saving an entry, preparing a PDF or share image, or loading Pork Prime plans, without error details;
• a coarse installation-age range;
• an anonymous retention milestone;
• the app version, iOS version, and analytics library version; and
• the Apple Ads campaign attribution described below.

We configure analytics with the following privacy safeguards:

• a new anonymous identifier is generated for each app launch, which prevents us from following the same person across sessions;
• PostHog person profiles are disabled;
• session replay is disabled;
• automatic screen capture, element-interaction capture, application-lifecycle capture, and push-notification capture are disabled;
• geographic enrichment is disabled; and
• only specifically approved event names and properties are sent.

The network request to PostHog necessarily originates from an IP address. Geographic enrichment is disabled, and Porkfolio does not add the IP address, precise location, name, email address, advertising identifier, or a stable user identifier to analytics events.

Analytics never include your diary text, meal names, meal photos, Pigginess levels, water intake, appetite changes, state of mind, weight, active or basal energy, private photos, Health data, whether you use Apple Health or the private photo history, progress or recap details, notification content, Siri requests, share-card, meal-image, or PDF contents, or where you share them.

PostHog processes these analytics on our behalf through its European Union endpoint. We retain anonymous analytics only for as long as reasonably necessary to understand product performance and improve Porkfolio, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Our legal basis for this limited processing, where applicable, is our legitimate interest in understanding product performance, diagnosing product-flow problems, and improving Porkfolio while minimizing the information collected.

Apple Ads campaign attribution

Porkfolio uses Apple’s AdServices framework to learn whether an installation came from one of our Apple Ads campaigns on the App Store. Once per installation, the app requests a temporary attribution token from iOS and sends it to Apple, which answers whether the installation is attributed to one of our ads.

We keep only whether the installation was attributed, the identifiers of our own campaign, ad group, and search keyword, and whether the ad led to a download or re-download after a tap or a view. These values are stored on your device and included with the anonymous analytics events described above so we can understand which campaigns bring people who use Porkfolio. We do not store or send the attribution token, the ad tap or view date, your country or region, or any advertising identifier.

AdServices attribution does not require App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. Apple processes attribution according to its own privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Apple Health

Apple Health integration is optional, is part of Pork Prime, and requires your permission. Depending on the permissions you grant, Porkfolio may:

• read dietary water, body mass, active energy burned, basal energy burned, state of mind, and appetite changes from Apple Health, for example to show your weight and total calories burned next to your Pigginess in Trends; and
• write dietary water, state of mind, and appetite changes to Apple Health.

Health information is processed on your device through Apple’s HealthKit framework and is not sent to SkinSoftware or PostHog. Porkfolio does not use Health information for advertising, marketing, or data mining. You can review or revoke Porkfolio’s Health permissions at any time in your device’s Health or Settings app.

Information stored in Apple Health is controlled by Apple and your device settings. Deleting information from Porkfolio does not necessarily delete information already stored in Apple Health.

Apple Watch

If you use the Porkfolio Apple Watch app, Porkfolio transfers relevant diary context, quick-log entries, water information, settings, and purchase-entitlement status between your paired Apple devices using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. Quick logs made while your iPhone is out of reach are kept on the watch until they can be delivered. This transfer supports the features you request and is not sent to SkinSoftware or its analytics service.

Widgets and watch complications

Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and Apple Watch complications show information from your diary, such as today’s meals and their status, your Pigginess, your water intake, and an active challenge. This information is prepared on your device and is not sent to SkinSoftware.

Widgets and complications can be visible on your Lock Screen or watch face to anyone who can see your device. If you prefer to keep this information private, remove the widgets or complications or adjust your device’s Lock Screen settings. Buttons in the Water widget add water to your diary on your device.

Siri, Shortcuts, and App Intents

Porkfolio offers optional actions for Siri, the Shortcuts app, Spotlight, and the Action button, for example to log food for a meal, log a meal photo, or log water. When you use them, the information you provide (such as the food, meal, Pigginess level, photos, note, or water amount) is passed to Porkfolio on your device and saved in your diary. Porkfolio may also offer your recent diary entries to the system so you can choose them in a shortcut.

Siri and Shortcuts are Apple services. Your spoken requests and their processing are handled by Apple according to Apple’s privacy policy and your Siri settings. Porkfolio does not send Siri requests or their content to SkinSoftware or PostHog. You can turn off Siri or remove Porkfolio’s shortcuts in your device settings.

Photos and Apple Intelligence

Photos you select for meal entries are stored locally as part of your diary. Porkfolio does not upload meal photos to SkinSoftware, PostHog, or a third-party artificial-intelligence service.

On supported devices and system versions, Porkfolio may offer optional meal-photo assistance using Apple’s on-device foundation model, for example to draft a meal description or suggest a Pigginess level. Porkfolio performs this analysis on the device. Any suggested diary text or Pigginess level remains under your control before it is saved. If you use Apple Intelligence through Siri or other system features, Apple processes those requests according to its own privacy policy.

Your use of the camera, the system photo picker, and the photo library is also subject to Apple’s privacy controls and the permissions you choose to grant.

Private photo history

With Pork Prime, you can keep a private photo history of pictures you take with your device’s camera inside Porkfolio or choose from your photo library. Photos from your library are chosen with the system photo picker, which does not give Porkfolio access to the rest of your library; Porkfolio saves an encrypted copy with the photo’s original capture date, and the original stays in your library. These photos are handled separately from your meal diary:

• each photo and its capture date are encrypted on your device before they are saved, using a key stored in your device’s Keychain that is available only on this device while a device passcode is set;
• the history is excluded from device backups and is never synchronized, uploaded to SkinSoftware or PostHog, analyzed, or included in exported PDFs, widgets, Siri, or Apple Watch;
• opening the history requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, which are verified by iOS. Porkfolio never receives your biometric data or passcode; and
• content is hidden when Porkfolio moves to the background or while the screen is being recorded or mirrored.

Because the photos are never backed up, they cannot be recovered if you delete Porkfolio, reset or lose your device, or turn off your device passcode. You can delete individual photos, reset the history, or remove it with the app’s delete-all-data option.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Porkfolio uses Apple’s notification services to deliver the meal reminders you configure and, if you choose, a notification when a monthly challenge starts and weekly check-ins, and, with Pork Prime, weekly and monthly recap reminders. Reminder settings are stored locally. Challenge and recap notifications use general wording; they do not show meal counts, ratings, notes, or health details. Porkfolio does not send notification content or notification interactions to PostHog. Analytics record only whether reminders were allowed, declined, or skipped during onboarding and when recap or monthly challenge notifications are switched on or off. You can change notification permissions in your device settings and change or remove reminders in Porkfolio.

Progress, recaps, and share images

Porkfolio calculates your logging streak, medals, 30-day and monthly challenges, and weekly and monthly recaps on your device from your diary. If you create a share card or a Quick share image of a meal, Porkfolio renders the image on your device. A meal image is written to a temporary file only when you tap Share and is removed when the share sheet closes. An image is shared only if you choose a destination in the system share sheet, and that destination processes it under its own privacy terms; saving it to your photo library requires your permission. You can hide the game layer in the app’s settings.

Challenges with friends

Challenge a Friend is optional. When you invite friends, Porkfolio creates the challenge in your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit sharing, and the invite link lets people join for 48 hours (up to seven friends). Anyone who receives the link while it is valid can open the challenge. When you join a friend’s challenge, your progress is stored in their iCloud and shared with the group.

Everyone in the group can see:

• the kind of challenge, its start date or month, and, for a monthly challenge, the shared pig threshold;
• the name you type when you invite or join (it is not read from your Apple Account);
• your status (waiting, taking part, completed, ended, stopped, or left); and
• your progress: which days of a 30-day challenge are done, or, for a monthly challenge, how many meals you recorded against the goal, how many logged days met the threshold, and your weekly check-ins.

Your meals, photos, notes, individual ratings, water, mood, appetite, and Apple Health data are never shared. SkinSoftware does not operate a server for this feature and cannot access the shared information; Apple stores it under its iCloud terms. Porkfolio removes the challenge seven days after it ends. You can leave a challenge at any time; if you started it, cancelling it or using the delete-all-data option removes it for everyone. Friends may have seen your progress before you left, and Porkfolio cannot recall what they saw.

Purchases

Pork Prime purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. SkinSoftware does not receive your payment-card details or your Apple Account details. Porkfolio receives product and transaction information needed to display available products, process a purchase, restore purchases, and determine whether Pork Prime features are available.

Apple handles purchase information according to its own privacy policy. Limited anonymous analytics may record the general stage or outcome of a purchase flow and the plan type, but not payment-card details, Apple Account details, or a stable user identity.

PDFs and information you choose to share

Porkfolio can create a PDF from diary information on your device. The PDF is not automatically uploaded to SkinSoftware. If you choose to share or save a PDF using the system share sheet, the destination you select processes it under that destination’s privacy terms. You are responsible for choosing the recipient or storage service.

This website

This website, porkfoliodiary.app, is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, embedded third-party content, or third-party fonts or scripts, and it does not ask you for any personal information.

• Hosting. The site is served through Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, our hosting provider processes technical request data, such as your IP address, the page requested, and your browser type, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. We do not use this data to identify you. Cloudflare’s privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Language preference. When you first visit, the site may switch to a translation that matches your browser language and remembers your language choice in your browser’s local storage. This value stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be cleared in your browser settings.
• External links. Links to the App Store, SkinSoftware, and social-media services take you to websites that handle information under their own privacy policies.

External links in the app

Porkfolio may open external websites, such as SkinSoftware pages, this website, Apple support pages, or social-media services. Those websites receive information according to their own privacy policies. Porkfolio does not include third-party advertising trackers.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share diary content, photos, or health information with data brokers or advertisers. Challenge progress is shared only with the friends in a challenge you create or join, through your iCloud account.

We disclose limited anonymous analytics to PostHog solely as a service provider processing them on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by applicable law or if necessary to protect legal rights, but because Porkfolio does not operate user accounts and diary content is stored locally, we ordinarily do not possess your diary content.

International processing

Our analytics endpoint is hosted in the European Union. Challenges with friends are stored by Apple in iCloud under Apple’s terms. PostHog, Cloudflare, or their service providers may process limited operational information in other countries under the safeguards described in their privacy documentation. SkinSoftware GmbH is based in Switzerland, which the European Commission recognizes as providing an adequate level of data protection.

Your choices and rights

You can:

• use Porkfolio without creating an account;
• choose whether to enable Apple Health, Apple Watch, notifications, Siri, widgets, and photo access;
• decide whether to start or join a challenge with friends, and leave it at any time;
• revoke system permissions in your device settings;
• delete locally stored Porkfolio diary entries, meal photos, and private photo history using the app’s delete-all-data option; and
• decide whether and where to share an exported PDF, share card, or meal image.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection concerning personal information we process, and to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.

Porkfolio’s analytics are intentionally anonymous and use a fresh identifier for each launch. As a result, we generally cannot identify which anonymous events came from you and may be unable to retrieve or delete particular analytics events in response to an individual request. You can still contact us with questions or objections about analytics processing.

Children’s privacy

Porkfolio is not directed specifically at children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through Porkfolio accounts because the app has no account system. Parents or guardians should supervise a child’s use of optional sharing, Apple Health, and purchase features as appropriate for the child’s age and device settings.

Security

We use data minimization and platform security controls designed to protect information handled by Porkfolio. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, device backups, and any PDFs or images you choose to export.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Porkfolio’s features or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through the App Store where appropriate.
